SST Testimony

Age: 18

Title: La Joya Night: Lost in Worship





It was our last day on our one week outreach and our

team decided to travel into the mountains to a small

village called "La Joya" to show the Jesus film. The

villege is located on the top of a mountainous terrain

on a flat. Its surrounded by a ridge of hills so it

looks like your in a dish. Because of the altitude the

clouds moved freely over the hills, down and through

the flat where we were. It was truly a site to see!



The people of the village were mostly farmers and

sheep herders. The town was very poor and because of

their location there was no access to running water.

The  community had a real big problem with alcohol and

had many drunkards, thats why our leaders chose to

evangelize and reach out to these people.



It was the middle of the summer during the rainy

season period. We heard reports from team members who

spent the week there that it rained all week and they

weren't able to get a lot of ministry done. But our

hearts were prepared to do ministry and we all had

expectations and were filled with excitement. We

set-up the screen in a small church at the end of the

town and with in minutes the church was filled to

capacity so we decided to go outside to make room for

more people. We stood in the open plains behind the

church and decided to get into small groups and start

praying for the people of the town and the event that

was taking place within the church. It was drizzling

and getting cold out side so we huddled together and

started to left our voices to the Lord and thats when

it happened! All of a sudden the winds started to pick

up, and every time a gust of wind went by it was like

fire rushing through our bodies and filled us with a

shivers of the Holy spirit. the winds picked up even

more and with each gust our prayers became louder, and

louder until they became shouts of praise to the Lord.

Nobody knew what was happening but everyone was

experiencing a move of God we have never seen before.

Everyone started to jump around laughing, running, and

dance in the presents of the Lord. All shame was gone,

and nobody cared about how they looked when they were

praising God because we were all filled with boldness

and all were lost is worship. Then the clouds above us

started to open up into a huge circle surrounding the

flat and we could see the glorious heavens. We looked

up with amazement falling to our knees in awe of his

splendor. We decided to run around the church and

place our hands on the walls and pray for the people

inside. There were testimonies of people seeing demons

fleeing out the church and angels among us. 



When we left that night know body could really explain

what happened because everyone had a different

testimony experience, but everyone could testify that

God came down like a mighty wind of fire and filled

that mountain with is glory. We all went home changed

and our hearts filled with joy.



I learnt from this experience that God wants to move

in everybody and reveal His glory to us all. God

revealed himself to us, a bunch of teens on a short

outreach, and He wants to share experiences like this

to all who loves Him and is willing to say " Yes Jesus

I will go!" or " Yes Jesus I am here you can use me!".

Experiences like these are happening all over the

world today it didn't only happen in the Bible days. 

Our God is the same God as Abraham, Isaiah, Moses,

Elijah and Paul. That evening we came with ready

hearts and believed in faith that God would do

something and he did! God wants to use you and use me

to tell people of His awesome wonders and Glory. And

thats what I want to do here on earth and forever

more.
